Bournemouth Hospital Charity
At Bournemouth Hospital Charity our mission is to enhance the care and treatment of patients accessing NHS services at the Royal Bournemouth & Christchurch Hospitals above and beyond what the NHS can afford.
Funds raised enable us to purchase extra equipment, provide staff training and make improvements to the hospital environment which enables quicker diagnosis and treatment helping people to return to their everyday way of life sooner, in more comfortable and pleasant surroundings.
The Royal Bournemouth Hospital provides a comprehensive range of patient and outpatient healthcare services including Cardiology, Dietetics, Eye Unit, Haematology, Maternity, Orthopaedics, Women’s Health, Stroke services and Thoracic medicine for people across Dorset, covering a population of 550,000.
The charity aims to make a difference to every patient and every condition that is treated at our hospitals above and beyond that which can be provided through NHS funding.
Money is raised to:
- Enhance patient care and comfort
- Provide state of the art and extra equipment and facilities
- Invest in our experienced staff to support improved patient health and wellbeing
Working with the community we aim to speed up patient treatment, reduce patient anxiety, aid quicker recovery, provide less intrusive treatment and improve the health and wellbeing of both patients and staff within the Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals.
We help the hospitals achieve their vision and goal to “provide the excellent care we would expect for our own families”.
All patients referred to Bournemouth Hospital benefit from charity fundraising.
We help to improve the hospital environment by providing items such as Chairs, TV’s and Free WiFi access as well as state of the art medical equipment which have been identified by the clinical areas to improve the patient experience.
Rapid advances in medical procedures means equipment is soon out-dated and so we aim to provide our hospital with whatever they need to keep in the forefront of developments.
